About Hailey Bates

I am currently a second year student at Northeastern University pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience and Philosophy. I am currently on my first co-op during the Spring 2023 semester at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where I am working as a research assistant in the Circadian Physiology Program. I plan to pursue a medical degree after graduation. I have been described by previous co-workers as positive, hardworking, patient, and organized. I plan to continue exhibiting these traits in the workplace, in addition to skills gained from previous job experiences. Working as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician has allowed me to practice building a patient-provider rapport, and basic life support skills such as airway, bleeding, and trauma management. Lab courses have helped me master lab skills such as centrifuging, micropipetting, chemical synthesis, and using EXCEL. In addition, experience from summer jobs and student organizations has helped me practice interpersonal skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and organization. My interests include pharmacology, data analysis, endocrinology and brain chemistry. More specifically, I hope to understand how certain physiological and mental outputs results from structural changes due to hormones.
