Eventually in 2015 I started at Phillips-Medisize as a medical manufacturing operator. After a little over a year there I began training to become a trainer for new hires, which at that time was an informal position filled by experienced operators. I used the skills learned in the public speaking competitions, alongside my passion for continuous learning to help create and deliver an effective New Hire training program and continued employee training that lends to improved employee engagement and commitment to quality. On my current team my main role is that of providing in person training for employees, instructional design and creating new training material by keeping up on the most up to date educational techniques. For the last six years I have conducted multiple in person classes weekly, including a weekly 16-hour new hire orientation with groups ranging from one-on-one classes to classes of 24 people of varying experience levels. I provide continued training for all night shift operators ensuring they have the knowledge to succeed in their new role and ensure they understand the importance of product quality. I often work with SMEs to create, and voice over product assembly videos and presentations about new products. In 2020 I played a role in the SAP role out the company went through and updating new hire training after to reflect that change.
