About Hailey Covington

I am currently a Claim Specialist II at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Plano, TX. I am licensed in 5 states and currently handling TX, CO, LA, AR, MS, AL, NM and OK claims. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BSBA degree concentrating in Risk Management and Insurance. I find the Risk Management/Insurance side of the business world very interesting and full of opportunity. My current role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing claims within assigned authority limits. My job consists of making decisions about liability/compensability, managing injured worker’s medical to ensure they are on track to return to work, and negotiating settlements with the Injured Worker or their attorney. My plan is to continue to grow and gain experience in all lines of insurance and ultimately pursue a career as a Chief Risk Officer of a corporation. I chose to dive into the insurance aspect of the business because I view insurance as a security blanket for people. The insurance field is all about helping people repair or replace the biggest investments of their lives, their home, their health, and their livelihood. Just like people that work in the medical field have a calling for helping people, insurance provides people with peace of mind knowing someone is in their corner ready to help when a disaster strikes.
