About Hailey Gallagher

If you close your eyes and imagine a career where each day is a new adventure, what do you see? I visualize a career in Recreation, a career where your work day is full of little moments of joy, creativity, connection and personal growth. As a Recreation Programmer, my mission is to provide unique and engaging programming and activities for diverse populations that foster a sense of belonging and well-being through the act of play. One of the many things I love about working in Recreation is the rewarding feeling of seeing the direct impact of my work. I am able to listen to the needs of my community and turn their voices into action. I do so by organizing and leading a team of front line staff, who implement safe, inclusive and fun programming that directly correlate to the interests and needs of the diverse community. Sports, leadership opportunities, and outdoor play - we have it all! Through this work, I am able to see communities come together in unity, while people find their purpose and passions. On a daily basis, our work allows people of all ages, skill levels, abilities and backgrounds to gain new friendships, feel connected, learn new skills, overcome fears, spread joy and overall create memorable experiences. Throughout my 12 years in this field, I have truly witnessed the magic of recreation. I see the transformative power of giving my community a voice, providing an inclusive, safe space for all individuals, bringing people together and impacting the youth and communities of tomorrow. I am always looking to network with like minded individuals who feel passionate about spreading joy and promoting play through Recreation!
