About Hailey Kobza

As a new school counselor I focus on the well-being of the whole student. In my practices I strive to use a person-centered approach that enables students to find their passions and strengths. I remain educated on evidence-based and culturally competent practices. I am committed to creating an equitable and successful learning environment for students of all identities. It is a school counselor's role to actively demonstrate their support for students and their families. Thus, I value creating strong relationships with students and their families to promote comfortability within the school community. In an effort to do this I attend after school activities, advise the junior class officers, coach softball, and write each student a birthday card on their birthday (even during the summer). Encompassing a restorative and positive school climate is vital for students success. In a way to remain engaged in this work I have joined several committees within Stratford High School and assumed several roles beyond School Counselor to ensure that I am advocating on behalf of all students.
