Dr. Haim Cikurel, a Chemical and PhD Environmental Engineer with 52 (1972-2024) years’ experience in research, production and engineering in the Chemical Process Industries and in water and wastewater treatment and reuse, Soil Aquifer Treatment (SAT), membranal processes (UF, NF, MBR, FO, RO), disinfection processes (member of the IWA SG Disinfection Committee since 2006), Advanced oxidation Processes (AOP), advanced biological processes including bio-augmentation techniques. Has worked for different industries (from pharmaceuticals to detergents, cosmetics, pesticides and oil) as chemical engineer and the last 23 years (1996-2019) as an independent consultant in water and wastewater treatment (MEKOROT National Water Company). • (From 1998-2023) has been responsible for finding, managing and scientifically following 13 different EU funded water, effluent treatment and reuse research projects (mainly pilot scale). From 2017 -2023 mainly as local coordinator for an SME for 3 projects in the field of thermoplastic products manufacturing (in all the 3 project SKM received the Innovation Radar Prize). In parallel, has been involved in water treatment projects for different industrial companies and has also consulted several SMEs for new processes. • Been teaching water and wastewater treatment courses for the Hebrew University BSc. and MSc. program, from 2012-2020. • Participated together with Tel-Aviv University in different water reuse research projects since 2014. • Contributed in 54 papers and two books. • Languages (reading, writing, speaking) English, French, Hebrew and Turkish (well).
