About Hakan Aysan

I have been working in Cybersecurity for 2 years, starting my career as a SOC Analyst where I gained hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and centralized event sources from various security products such as Zyxel Firewalls, network switches, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Synology storage systems. I then joined John Cockerill as a Cybersecurity Engineer, at a time when there was no dedicated cybersecurity team. I built the security organization from the ground up, and today I lead a SecOps team of 3 members. My achievements include- Implementing a SOC with Rapid7 InsightIDR and automated response with InsightConnect - Designing and running Pentesting scenarios with Pentera - Establishing a Vulnerability Management program using Rapid7 VM, Pentera, Scorecard, and Microsoft Defender - Managing network security with Check Point, email security with Proofpoint, SNMP monitoring with WhatsUp Gold, and a PAM solution with Wallix (implementation included)- Configuring Microsoft Defender EDR baselines tailored to business needs - Actively working on CMMC certification projects for the defense sector, ensuring compliance and certification readiness - Automating investigations and leveraging AI-driven workflows with n8n, an extremely powerful tool - Daily usage of Microsoft security ecosystem: Intune, Entra ID, Azure, Defender Beyond the technical scope, I focus on aligning cybersecurity with business needs, managing my team effectively, and ensuring smooth execution of management’s strategic goals. Looking ahead, I aim to grow in the implementation of security measures for compliance and certifications (ISO 27001, NIS2, CMMC, DORA), as well as in Risk Management, Information Security, and Data Protection leadership.
