About Hakim McMorris
I am Hakim McMorris, and I am a student-athlete on the Track and Field team at UC Berkeley majoring in Data Science with an emphasis in Applied Mathematics and Modeling. I am interested in Video Game Development because as a kid growing up, I remember being envious of my older brother having a Game Boy Advance. On most days, I would sit and watch him play for hours. So when Christmas came around, I added “Game Boy Advance” to the top of my short list of 2 items I was allowed to ask for. When I woke up on Christmas day, I ran to the living room and saw a medium-sized square-shaped box under the tree. I prayed it was the Game Boy Advance I had asked for. Sure enough, it was a blue Game Boy Advance and my parents also bought me Pokémon Emerald as my first game. I was so excited to get to play my very first video game and I want others to feel the same joy I did that morning when I began my video game journey. I am currently exploring career paths in the Data Science field and in Video Game Development.
