About Haley Fleming

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's in Science Education and a Minor in Spanish. My emphasis in college was Chemistry Education, and I am certified to teach both General Science and Chemistry in the state of Georgia. I have had certification in AP Chemistry and IB Chemistry SL (1 Year and 2 Year) in the state of Georgia with a gifted endorsement. I am currently working on certification in Spanish in the state of Georgia and general certification in the state of California. I am currently teaching Chemistry at Oconee County High School. I started my teaching career at Jackson County High School. While teaching at JCHS I was involved in several extracurricular clubs including Prom Committee and the Student Council. I am also a Virtual Chemistry Teacher for Imagine Learning. I have been involved in many professional development opportunities such as ADI (Argument-Driven Inquiry) for Secondary Educators, the VisChem Institute, and District Design Team work where I was the lead for Chemistry. These opportunities have allowed me to work and develop a curriculum for Chemistry that helps limit student misconceptions. I am a member of AACT (American Association of Chemistry Teachers) and ACS (American Chemical Society) and in 2021 I was named the ACS NEGA Chemistry Teacher of the Year.
