Some of my responsibilities during my 4 years as a prosecution assistant- Establish and maintain calendars and deadline reminder systems for assigned attorneys and patent agents/law clerks utilizing master calendar systems - Schedule meetings and conferences, including telephone conference calls with multiple outside parties in multiple time zones - Open new files and maintained all client and general files - Prepare files to be closed - Review and respond to client correspondence and preparation of formal documents including Declarations, Substitute Statements, Assignments, Powers of Attorney - Review, process, and file new applications including Continuation, Divisional, Continuation-in-Part, Utility, Provisional, and Design - Review, process, and file responses for formalities including Official Filing Receipts, Notices of Publication, Missing Parts, Advisory Actions, Office Action- Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements including determination of fee or certification requirements- Preparation of reporting letters and correspondence - Preparing routine correspondence, reading and routing mail, file maintenance, and screening attorney’s incoming telephone calls - Preparing applications, responses and other patent prosecution documents for filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and reporting filings to clients - Monitoring, processing and satisfying attorney’s dockets - Performing research and compiling data as requested by attorneys - Other duties as assigned
