About Haley Nelson

As a design leader, my focus is on finding the right opportunities to enrich the lives of users in a way that also drives positive change for the business. I believe in a holistic approach to solving problems that encompasses thorough user research, a concrete understanding of the problem, battle-tested prototypes, and live feedback sessions to ultimately guide my direction and reduce risk for any project. It’s always been my philosophy that it’s not enough to make something look ‘pretty’, it must function well to provide real, meaningful value to users. As part of that methodology, I leverage important data points, both qualitative and quantitative, to remove bias from the decision-making process and to build a strong foundation of empathy for the user. By understanding their problems, their motivations, and what gets in the way of their success — I can craft design solutions that improve retention, reduce friction, and foster delight. But, the job isn’t done when the design phase is complete. I’m extremely passionate about working cross-functionally with other teams, like engineering and customer success, to see my designs through from start to finish and to enable teams (and users) to take full advantage of the improvements. Working closely with other teams throughout the process has become my favorite part of the job and it fosters an incredible culture of ownership, curiosity, and dedication.
