Background
About Haley Ness
Hi, I'm Haley. Investigator, advocate, and survivor of the very systems I now work to improve. My career is rooted in lived experience and shaped by a deep understanding of what it’s like on both sides of the table. This dual perspective has made me a relentless truth-seeker who operates with integrity, empathy, and a no-nonsense commitment to justice. My work centers around confronting hard and uncomfortable truths, pushing back against broken systems, and standing with those too often silenced or forgotten. Justice and integrity aren’t just ideals to me- they’re the foundation of my character and the standard for every role I take on. I’ve built my career across state government, crisis response, and grassroots outreach. As a Lead Investigator for state government, I led complex investigations into abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Each case was a commitment, not just a file, but a responsibility to bring truth to light and safety to those at risk, especially the hard-to-reach, complex, high-acuity and help-rejecting clients that others had given up on. In addition to my time with the state, I’ve spent years on the front lines of community advocacy, meeting people where they are, especially those overlooked or system-impacted. I’ve walked tent encampments distributing food and Narcan, advocated for our unhoused neighbors, de-escalated crises as a trained crisis counselor, and helped survivors of domestic violence by founding and facilitating support groups with an understanding of the nuanced intersectionality that comes with trauma, too often perpetuated by the system meant to prevent it. I’ve shown up.in shelters, streets, courtrooms, hospitals, and moments of acute need.because showing up always matters. Whether conducting a high-profile investigation or doing street outreach, I operate with a compass grounded in truth, equity, and accountability. I believe in doing what’s right, even when it’s uncomfortable and especially when systems protect themselves instead of people. I’m known for asking tough questions with compassion, building trust in unlikely places, and holding systems and leaders accountable. I’m currently open to agency roles, collaborative projects, consulting, contract work, training, and speaking opportunities with teams and missions that align with mine: justice, ethics, and impact. If you’re building something with integrity or looking for a fearless investigator, a strategic problem-solver, or a fierce advocate to help tackle complex challenges, let’s connect.
