About Haley Pandya
The Honours Chemistry Co op program pushes me to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills, which has provided me a foundation to excel in the lab and writing lab reports. I completed my thesis in April 2024 in Analytical Chemistry with the Britz lab at McMaster University. My project focused on the assessment of serum ionized calcium and magnesium status with high dose vitamin D3 treatment in critically ill children using CE-iUV. Additionally, in 2022, I was a Research Assistant in the Inorganic Chemistry Department at McMaster University. My research included converting waste heat into green energy and studying the thermoelectric phases. I am passionate about research position as I thoroughly enjoy working in lab. I completed my first co op as a student Radiation Surveyor in the McMaster Health Physics Department where I prepared and analyzed samples for OPG subsidiaries, handled the disposal of radioactive waste, and learned about the many nuclear initiatives that the University has to offer.
