Hello! What directed me on the path of the helping service, was being certified as CNA (certified nursing assistant). During my training I have learned to assess and respond to an individuals needs. These characteristics are what many social workers do daily. During my freshman year of college, I was introduced to Big Brothers Big Sisters. This organization gave me the opportunity to be a mentor to whom I consider my "little". Throughout this mentorship I built rapport with my little. Also, her and I mutually agreed on goals and objectives based off of her strengths, needs, and challenges. As a future social worker, I look forward to seeing my clients overcome challenges as well as being able to help guide them through those challenges.
