About Halil Arici

As a dedicated Electrical & Electronics Engineer with a passion for biomedical applications, I am currently pursuing my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute under the supervision of Prof. Juergen Hahn. My research focuses on harnessing the power of Biomedical Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI to drive advancements in healthcare. My PhD research involves developing Machine Learning models for diagnosing autism spectrum disorder through metabolites, achieving over 90% accuracy. During my undergraduate studies, one of my significant achievements was developing the "Smart Wrist Relaxer" – a wristband prototype designed to prevent wrist-related orthopedic issues such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome among e sports players. This project earned the Best Senior Design Project Award and showcased our ability to create practical solutions using biomedical signal processing, Python, and MATLAB. Additionally, I worked on enhancing optical resolution in cameras using Deep Learning techniques, further demonstrating my problem-solving abilities. My diverse professional experience includes software development for aviation systems, conducting feasibility analyses for R&D projects, and leading key performance indicator (KPI) determination meetings. My internships at renowned organizations like Aselsan and Turkish Aerospace Industries have provided me with valuable insights and hands-on experience in C++, and system integration. Beyond my technical expertise, I am committed to ethical practices and teamwork, as demonstrated by my leadership roles in the Student Branch and the Ethics Leader Academy. I am excited to continue contributing to the field of Biomedical Engineering and to collaborate on innovative projects that make a tangible impact on healthcare.
