About Hallie Clark

Life is constantly evolving, so to evolve myself, I went to do something I did not know how to do, so I could know how to do it. Surgical Technology is the exact specialty that you never fully get to know because there’s always something new to learn. I knew all to well what it was like being the surgical patient from having my own VSD repair as a young child and growing to experiencing birth, along with other minor setbacks that surgical therapy has helped me overcome. But the overall experience has given me the advantage most wished they had to gain better understanding of every position there is to make patient care the best full circle. My medical field career started over 6 years ago, at entry level in housekeeping. Knowing in my heart I was set out to do more, I used that foot in the door to move up to patient transport, taking CNA courses to prepare me for HUC/PCT in the float pool on nursing units, and now in pre and post op which further exposed me to intraoperative positions like Surgical Technology. The opportunity to grow has kept me humble to remember where I’ve come from and appreciate how much further I have to go, CSTFA.
