About Halyna Miasoid

I am an academic professional with 20 years of experience in a university environment, good at multitasking, prioritising and managing challenging tasks, able to meet the standards, hard working and enthusiastic about taking an organisation to a higher level of performance. I have a track-record of building and maintaining power partnering relationships. I am a self-starter who works on my own initiative and good at dealing with people in a variety of contexts. I am looking for a position where I enjoy responsibility in an educational context, and I am equally prepared for a career change. I am a qualified teacher of English, MA in Tourism and Higher School Pedagogy. I received my Candidate of Science (PhD) in Pedagogy in 2005. I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language (General English, ESP and Scientific English) in Bachelor and Master programs. I am deeply interested in the area of TESOL, and do my CDP each year. I am a member of TESOL Ukraine, and participate in its training programs, as well as training programs delivered by other institutions in the field regularly. A special area of my research interest is intercultural communication, especially in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality and International Business Relations. I am a lecturer of an International Tourism course and I have successfully coordinated three virtual mobility programs on Tourism, Hospitality and International Business for the students of Alfred Nobel University together with Washington State University, USA during the 2021-2022 academic year. I work with students from different cultural backgrounds and prepare them to work in diverse environments. I was a member of the Editorial Board for the university journal and a member of the Specialised Academic Council for Academic staff certification for 6 years. As a teacher, I always seek to analyse student needs, and help them achieve their goals by means of education, self-fulfillment or involvement in any educational and professional projects that I try to share with them. I often act as an intermediary between students and employers, or places of internships. As a manager, I value the unique contributions of each team member and strive to bring the best in them. During 2021-2022 three educational programmes in my department were accredited under my supervision: Bachelor’s program Tourism by ZEvA, Germany; Hotel & Restaurant Business (Bachelor’s) and Tourism (Master’s) were accredited by The National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance in Ukraine.
