About Hamed Aliyari

I have extensive experience in utilizing brain-computer interfaces (BCI), human-computer interactions(HCI), interactive and immersive media technologies (including virtual reality(VR)), artificial intelligence(AI), and the applications of biomedical systems in cognitive science and neuroscience to create state-of-the-art therapeutic solutions for mental and cognitive impairments.I have been involved as a member of various teams or the leader of the teams in several research projects and start-ups in the areas related to studying human behavioral cognitive science, cognitive/serious games, computational and cognitive neuroscience, HCI, rhesus monkey’s brain, etc.I also led quantitative and qualitative studies involving the above-mentioned fields from different multidisciplinary perspectives, which focused on using neuroscience, computational neuroscience, BCI and HCI research to understand, recognize and classify different aspects of the effects of interactive media and their mechanics on cognition. Based on the results of the study, I co-founded a start-up company (Intersection of VR, AI, and neuroscience) and developed real products to help people control their aging-induced cognitive deterioration (Using machine learning as a classifier and providing personalized tasks). I have over 40 technical publications including journals, articles, and conference proceedings. 2 book chapters.I am currently working as a post-doctoral researcher in the Texas Computational Memory Lab on, conducting research and development on data methods for human intracranial EEG (iEEG) under the supervision of Dr. Lega.
