About Hamish Borkovic

I am an Edith Cowan University Bachelor of Business graduate, majoring in International Business (September 2019). I foresee myself contributing to a workplace greatly in the near future, to assist in forging and maintaining international company/organisational relationships in a constantly growing globalised society. I believe the strength and nurture these bonds require will become ever more critical for the survival of companies and organisations, in the coming future. I’m most eager to broaden my understanding and perception of multiculturalism in both the public and professional spheres, this is of vital means to me as to contribute towards my progression of understanding the nuances and intricacies of International Business.These career aspirations are also greatly tied to interests and passions, such as; traveling and technology. This is evident from my past experiences; Guangzhou, China, for the annual “Canton Fair” the world’s largest trade fair. I had a keen interest in witnessing the latest developments for automated manufacturing, fabrication and high-end-tech consumer products. Whilst studying at ECU I was also chosen to represent ECU as an ambassador for a semester-exchange at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Currently ranked the 13th top university in the world, ‘QS World University Rankings’). In addition, I was awarded the ‘New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Grant’ for the exchange. As such, I am an NCP Alumni member. This yearning to travel and connect with others, that are greatly different from myself, fosters a deeper understanding and development of my own cross-cultural skills.Devotion, contemplation and empathy are some of my most distinct attributes, which I assert makes me a more engaged, analytical and understanding individual. My skill set which has been developed over my studies and projects include; leadership, collaborative work, strong soft skills (time management, teamwork, conflict resolution, lateral thinking), proficient software skills; Spreadsheets, Presentations/Slideshows, MS Access, Excel.
