About Hamish MacFarlane

A highly motivated individual who is passionate about constantly learning new skills and pushing my self. I am recent graduate masters student, having graduated from Neuroimaging for Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Manchester. From which, my dissertation (investigating what effects different modelling techniques have on reported PK1995 specific binding in both patients with MSA-P and healthy controls) alone received a distinction. This masters course has helped me to further consolidate my excellent skills in statistical analysis of advanced datasets, the advanced analysis of all non-invasive imaging modalities in addition to advancing my knowledge of several coding languages to aid in such analyses (Linx, SPSS, MATlab). This masters not only allowed me to continue to learn about a field I am passionate in, it has also allowed me to gain in person experience in using these techniques and processing the resulting data. My undergraduate in a BPS accredited course provided me much of this foundation for statistical analysis and clinical research. I have also been fortunate enough to work as a research assistant for several projects now. Ranging from preclinical animal research investigating the role of COMPLEMENT in Cardiff universities Hayden Ellis buildings wet lab (paper in publication). I also have experience in the conduction of clinical research and analysis of collated data when working as a research assistant in a NIHR funded research project in investigating therapeutic access and interventions on mental health in patient wards.
