I am a senior Islamic banking executive with more than 25 years’ leadership experience across consumer, SME, corporate and institutional banking. I have built an exceptional track record of developing and growing client relationships and of leading high performing teams, servicing demanding stakeholders with highly complex products which meet both commercial and Shariah requirements I have been working for ABC Islamic Bank in Bahrain since 2005, initially as Head of Coverage before promotion to Chief Executive in 2017. I have overseen consistent growth in revenue, with Islamic banking now comprising a significant portion of Bank ABC’s group income. I have driven innovative product design, expanded the bank’s footprint and opened Islamic windows in Dubai and Algeria. I recognise that my own success has been underpinned by the colleagues I have hired and mentored during my career, many of whom have gone on to have outstanding careers of their own. I believe that building a team of the right people makes success much more achievable, as long as they are allowed to flourish within a framework where product groups align with relationship management to generate synergies and promote the quality of the client experience.
