About Hana Levay

I’m a math-trained product strategist and digital accessibility leader with 15+ years of experience designing data tools, defining KPIs, and making complex systems work for real people. Currently at the University of Washington Libraries, I act as product owner for decision dashboards guiding multi-million-dollar subscription budgets, and I created the Accessibility Risk Score, a KPI now adopted nationally. I co-chair the Library Accessibility Alliance (~300 libraries) and advise on accessibility for Elsevier and UW’s ADA Title II Taskforce. My path has woven together math, education, and technology: from customizing K–12 math assessment software and tutoring, to developing rules-based publishing systems in a proprietary language, to piloting Python/API automation for assessment workflows. Along the way, I’ve been recognized with the UW IT Accessibility Trailblazer Award (2023) for advancing inclusive digital access. What excites me is building tools that empower learners, make data actionable, and raise the bar for accessibility. I thrive where metrics meet mission—and I’m always ready to learn the next tool that gets us there.
