I work at the Chemistry Unit of Finnish Food Authority. I am the responsible investigator of GM detection analyses, ELISA-based contaminant analyses and species identification assays. I am also deeply involved with bio-safety and laboratory preparedness matters. Member of European Network of GMO Laboratories and an active reviewer of ISO/CEN/SFS laboratory standards, and a keen follower of the NGT legistlation discussions currenly ongoing in EU. My scientific interests include: Modern Plant Breeding and Biotechnology applications, especially Gene Editing and NGT organisms,"Conventional" GMO's, Genetically Modified Microbes (GMMs) and Sequencing. In addition to a broad range of molecular biology analyses under my belt, I am skilled in various Imaging technologies (including X-ray 3/4D µ- & nano-CT imaging, Confocal Laser Microscopy etc.).
