About Hannah Arras

Design Engineer in the Magnet Division at Tesla Engineering Ltd, specializing in the design and optimization of high-precision electromagnetic devices for medical, scientific, and industrial applications. Recently graduated with an MEng Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sussex in July 2024. During my time at university, I was actively involved with the Formula Student team, Sussex Racing. In my role as Commercial Director, I managed the team’s social media pages, planned sponsor events, and led a team for the business presentation event at the FSUK competition. For my fourth-year dissertation, I collaborated with fellow MEng students and Polestar to reduce the energy impact of climate controls in their EVs, aiming to improve range while maintaining thermal comfort for passengers. I am especially passionate about medical device engineering and enjoy exploring the design processes involved. Additionally, I have a strong interest in motorsport. As I move forward in my career, I am keen on gaining relevant experience that will expand my education and enhance my professional skills.
