About Hannah Beato

As an Environmental Planner at VHB, I provide environmental planning support for projects under NEPA. Typical responsibilities include assisting with development of NEPA documents, including research, analysis, writing, reviews, and addressing agency comments. I have over six years of experience as a NEPA practitioner and have provided assistance in the development of NEPA documents for FRA, FTA, FHWA, FAA, USACE, and state transportation agencies, for various types of projects under different classes of action, in several states along the east coast. I have experience drafting both individual and programmatic Section 4(f) Evaluations, which is a technical area I hope to continue to develop. My primary interests include Section 4(f) of the U.S. DOT Act of 1966, coordination of NEPA and the Section 106 process, and continuing to develop my career as a NEPA practitioner. I have an MS in Biology and a BS in Ecology, which lend strength to my critical thinking and understanding of the intricate connections and impacts of our actions on the environment.
