About Hannah Carter

I enjoy working with others and collaborating on ideas with larger groups. When working at the Graduate College, I assisted in the development of internal seed funding proposals, researched external funding opportunities for a variety of diverse departments and have managed social media accounts. I am also completing a practicum/internship with the Herberger Institute for Design at Arizona State University, where I have worked with their advising and student engagement team. Through this, I have gained experience in working with students and faculty in a higher education setting. I have shadowed over a hundred hours of advising sessions, assisted in running programs at new student orientations and would have the responsibility of selecting students initial courses before orientations. During undergraduate, I worked for the Office of Admissions at the University of Arizona as an Orientation and Welcome Leader. Through this, I gained experience in leadership and communication. I would assist in running events for over incoming freshman and transfer students as well as educating them about the University. I have over 5 years of working experience in retail. In undergraduate I also worked for the University of Arizona's Bookstore. Through retail, I have learned excellent customer service and leadership skills. I would be responsible for the entire store at times and the experience taught me great responsibility. When I am not studying or participating in clubs, I enjoy going to theater performances and I also have a minor in theater at the University of Arizona. My love for theater has taught me public speaking as well as, the ability to work with a variety of individuals to reach a common goal.
