About Hannah Cole

I am a confident and consistently hard working individual who strives to expand their knowledge of their chosen profession. I have invaluable experience with customer service and hospitality, however my true calling lies within a career based around literature, language and communication. I am currently working as an English teacher at a school deemed 'Good' by Ofsted. Through my professional experience as a teacher as well as my time as a student, I am well versed in technical skills such as: editing; proof-reading; writing both academically and creatively; preparing and delivering presentations for a variety of audiences; programmes such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft. Furthermore, both my teacher-training and academic career have given me the opportunities I need to really think outside of the box. For example, one particular aspect of teaching I have found rather challenging is engaging students with some of the, perhaps dated, curricular content. However, I found that by introducing skills and techniques that pull upon popular culture as an exemplar, I have managed to bridge gaps, turning 'boring' topics into relevant, current and applicable ones; peaking my students' intellectual curiosity. I hope that this kind of creativity and proactive thinking is something that I am able to follow throughout my time as a working professional, as challenge to change outlooks and opinions is something on which I thrive. Though I am a teacher currently, I hope to one day expand my career into more exciting, dynamic and enterprising industries within which I can really pull upon my charisma, initiative and resourcefulness.
