About Hannah Cooper

I graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. I received the Academic Excellence award that recognizes my 4.0 GPA in my Chemical Engineering courses and having the highest GPA in my graduating class. During my time at FSU, I was involved in a diverse range of student activities. I held a leadership role in the Society of Women Engineers, tutored math and engineering for the Academic Center of Excellence, and performed in the FSU Flying High Circus. During my senior year, I completed an Honors in the Major research project under the mentorship of Dr. Jamel Ali at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. Here, I fabricated and characterized 3D printable hydrogels made with pea protein. Prior to my senior year, I worked as a Process Engineer Co-op at WestRock Paper Company for 8 months. I led a project in an effort to improve the cooking of wood chips following Lean Six Sigma practices and received my Yellow Belt Certification. The following summer, I worked as a Quality Intern at the world's largest cheese manufacturing plant, Southwest Cheese. Following graduation, I began my career with Piedmont Lithium as a Jr. Process Engineer. In this role, I improved accuracy in the Lithium Hydroxide Plant Process Model in a METSIM simulation software, led FEL 1 package efforts for a demonstration plant and increased team collaboration within the workplace by implementing a "Coffee and Chat" employee cross-training program.
