About Hannah de Moor

Dr. Hannah De Moor is Collaborator Medieval Sculpture Collection at M Leuven and Ards | the platform for medieval sculpture. She is co-editor of 'Taking Shape: Sculpture of the Low Countries, c. 1400–1600' and 'Borman in Context: Brabantine Sculpture from 1460–1540', both which appeared with Brepols Publishers. De Moor completed her PhD in Art History at KU Leuven in 2022 with a dissertation titled 'Unravelling the History of Netherlandish Carved Altarpieces in Sweden, c. 1470–1527 and Beyond'. She has received several research grants, including those from the Chair for Medieval Sculpture in the Netherlands (Illuminare – KU Leuven)(2017–2022), the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO)(2018, 2021), and the Petra och Karl Erik Hedborgs Stiftelse (2021). Her scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Art Historiography, Konsthistorisk tidskrift/Journal of Art History, and Perspective: Actualité en histoire de l’art. Between 2016 and 2022, De Moor was responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Illuminare – Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Art at KU Leuven. During this period, she contributed to the Digital Corpus of Flemish Retables project in collaboration with the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History in The Hague. The aim of this project was to compile and digitise three key documentation collections of 15th- and 16th-century carved altarpieces, with the goal of creating a comprehensive Digital Corpus.
