About Hannah Eiserman

Since receiving a Master of Arts in English from the University of Victoria, I have undertaken a new journey in marketing, which has empowered me to use my creativity, writing, and research skills in a new way. I always delight in a opportunity to learn new skills and try to cultivate a variety of experiences, so this new undertaking has been a real gift for my professional development! My MA research was in Victorian literature and print culture. My graduating essay, entitled "The Dial (1889-1897): Creating Queer Community Through Collaboration." In this essay, I argue that The Dial's coeditors, Charles Ricketts and Charles Shannon, used their periodical as a tool to foster a community of likeminded individuals - that is to say, as a tool of queer community building. My previous experience includes a variety of writing, editing, teaching, and research positions. I held positions as the Arts and Culture section editor for The Carillon, University of Regina's student newspaper, as an editorial assistant intern at University of Regina Press, as a research assistant on the Samuel Johnson's Dictionary Online, and as an undergraduate and graduate teaching assistant. So far, writing has been published in Grain (50.1), The Carillon (Volume 64), and the Samuel Johnson's Dictionary Online blog. In my free time, I can be found reading, gallivanting in the woods and surrounding ocean of Vancouver Island, working on one of my five half-finished novels, or more likely trying to make something out of wood, yarn, or fabric.
