Background
About Hannah Eulenkamp
When I finished my A-Levels I didn't feel ready for University. I was in love with the game of cricket having been afforded the opportunity to to play at County level. I was happily employed by the Guernsey Cricket Board for three years working within the community to promote and provide opportunities for young people in Guernsey. Whilst there I completed my Level 2.5 cricket coaching qualification. I decided that University was a good way to expand upon my practical skills, network, and improve my coaching knowledge. I learned a great deal about learning, motivation, psychology, physiology and philosophy. I continued to work for the GCB during breaks and holidays. My Dissertation was on the topic of the benefits of Street Sports initiatives and their impact on communities, crime and anti-social behaviour. Following my Undergraduate Degree I continued my studies away from sport. My Postraguate Diploma was in Criminology where I learned about domestic violence, crime scene investigation, offender behaviour, and community policing. When I returned to Guernsey full time I worked at the Guernsey Sports Commission for just under a year where I helped to deliver the PE in Schools Programme and school holiday clubs. This role required a lot of organisation; namely planning, contact with parents, coaching, overseeing staff, contact with schools and delivering lessons to classes. I then applied to the Guernsey Police as a Police Constable. I have been a front line uniformed police officer, worked in the Neighbourhood Team, had an attachment with the Public Protection Unit and am currently working in intelligence. I have also been trained in mental health first aid,Trauma Risk Management (TRiM), video interviewing, evidence gathering in Rape and other Sexual Offence cases, and am a Family Liaison Officer. I have a particular interest in public protection, particularly domestic violence and also child protection. I had a wonderful two years working in the neighbourhood team where I built good relations within my communities, parishes, schools etc. I was responsible for four parishes - Castel, St Peters, Torteval and St Saviours - and liaised with two secondary schools and three primary schools. In my spare time I play hockey. I am currently the Island first team goalkeeper. I also captain the Guernsey Ladies Cricket team who have ICC International status. We are looking forward to hosting an International tournament this summer. I am also a qualified Girl Guiding Brownie Leader and Ranger Leader and I am a Unit Helper with a Cub Scout group.
