About Hannah Hurt

I never sought out Data Science when the counselor sat me down with my list of strengths and potential avenues, but in hindsight, it only makes sense. I've always loved math and working with numbers, hence why I got BS in Math, BBA in Finance, and MS in Statistics. Solving problems only came naturally after all the puzzle games I've played. And I've always enjoyed the aspect of programming that allowed me to automate the more tedious parts of a project that prevented me from jumping into problem-solving immediately. My previous position at ADJames Data Intelligence (Bitcoin Unbound LLC) as a Data Scientist really helped me to gain more experience working with real data not specifically created for a class project. I was able to create different metrics for the company, which helped make up ~10% of the company's platform as product. I also gained a lot of experience working with over 100 time-series models in Python doing some forecasting and trend analysis. I've been very honored to start by employment at USAA as a Decision Science Analyst, and I really hope that this new position will help me to grow. Current Techstack: Python (and all its libraries: Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Keras, Seaborn, SQLite3, etc.), R, SAS, SQL, MariaDB, AWS.
