About Hannah Lee
My research examines complicity in structures of patriarchal oppression and the role motivated ignorance plays in this. I specifically focus on the affective dimensions of ignorance and complicity. At the heart of my work lies a central question: what kinds of knowledge and understanding of social injustices enable meaningful change – especially resistance from those who are subjected to oppression? I develop formative and ameliorative forms of social critique that not only analyze but also seek to transform the very structures they critique. This reflects how my academic interests are strongly driven by an urge for social change.
