About Hannah Lim

I am a senior majoring in Sociology at Columbia University, deeply passionate about justice, advocacy, and the legal field - particularly in areas that address systemic harm and protect vulnerable populations. I plan to pursue a career in law, with aspirations to become a prosecutor. Growing up in Pakistan, where my father worked as a general surgeon at an NGO hospital serving Afghan refugees, I witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of inadequate legal protections-particularly for women and marginalized communities. This experience solidified my commitment to pursuing legal advocacy, with a strong interest in criminal justice, civil rights, and combating sexual exploitation and abuse. Through my work with United Nations-affiliated NGOs and legal advocacy organizations, I have engaged in policy research, international diplomacy discussions, and community-driven initiatives. My experiences in human rights advocacy and leadership roles have reinforced my passion for understanding legal frameworks that impact marginalized communities.
