About Hannah Lynn

After a stint in the world of medicine assisting with various types of cancer research—something I had dreamed about doing since I was tee-tiny—I realized that some of the major issues with health are not just the ones that our genetics control: they also arise from our various cultures, extending to race, social status, and even religion. Because of this realization, I decided to shift my career focus to one of Public Health, and started working in the Case Management industry for Louisiana Waiver and Medicaid participants of all ages, religions, races, and walks-of-life. It has been a truly rewarding experience, as these participants generally have multiple disabilities that occasionally inhibit them from accessing resources other non-disabled individuals may be able to access without question. My experience has connected me with many individuals who have taught me countless lessons, whether they mean to or not (and whether to lesson is enjoyable or not!). Working in this field has given me insight to aspects of Public Health that studying and research alone would never be able to provide—and I am immensely grateful for this position, for that very reason!My other passions include cooking (mostly the eating part), reading new thrillers, and learning new things. My cliche-goal (though, I truly mean it.and don't we all) is to make a difference for those who need it. I want to present health-related theories to governing entities that raise eyebrows, make people ask the hard questions about health, and cause individuals to truly look at the pivotal role culture plays in our health; I want these theories to create positive change in the healthcare industry.
