About Hannah Mark

I am a Recovery Biologist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Species at Risk Program. I work to advance the recovery of SARA-listed large baleen whale species found in the Maritimes region - North Atlantic right whale, blue whale, and fin whale. I am a graduate of Nova Scotia Community College with an Oceans Technology Advanced Diploma, and of Dalhousie University with a Combined Honours BSc Co-op degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography. I have worked previously as an Aerial Maine Mammal Observer and Baleen Whale Acoustician with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, as a Technical Intern at the Oceans Tracking Network, as an Aquarist at Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, in aquaculture (both research and commercial), in a pharmaceutical research lab, and as a Marine Mammal and Seabird Observer in offshore Canada. I have a particular interest in marine mammal conservation and acoustic behaviour and reduction in ocean noise.
