About Hannah May

I’m a Quantitative Economics student at Boise State University (graduating May 2027) with minors in Applied Mathematics and Applied Data Science, focused on applying data analysis to real-world economic and business problems. My work centers on turning messy, large-scale datasets into structured insights and decisions. I’ve built predictive models in Python to estimate credit risk, analyzed customer behavior and revenue dynamics using SQL, and conducted time-series analysis to evaluate inflation trends and macroeconomic conditions.I also build data-driven tools to support business decision-making, including an interactive Excel dashboard analyzing sales, profitability, and performance trends through KPI development, data visualization, and scenario analysis. As a Research Assistant, I develop data pipelines and apply machine learning techniques, including a BERT-based model, to analyze how corporate misconduct impacts stock prices. This work involves web scraping, text classification, and quantifying market responses to unexpected information.I’m particularly interested in roles at the intersection of data, finance, and strategy—where analysis is used to evaluate performance, assess risk, and support decision-making in complex systems.I am seeking a Summer 2026 internship in data science, analytics, or finance in the San Francisco Bay Area and plan to relocate there full-time after graduation.
