About Hannah Shaw

I have recently completed an integrated Master’s in Psychology at the University of Leeds, following a Bachelor of Science in the same field. My academic interests centre on criminal rehabilitation and the psychology of offending, with a strong focus on how psychological theory and research can inform more effective justice policies and rehabilitation strategies. For my third year project, I explored public attitudes toward the treatment and rehabilitation of prisoners, examining how political views, media exposure, and demographic factors influence opinion. This work reinforced my commitment to understanding how psychological insights can shape fairer, more effective criminal justice systems. I’m currently enjoying the summer working as a supervisor in a fast-paced bar environment, where I’ve continued developing leadership, communication, and team management skills - all of which have complemented my academic training with practical, real-world experience. In the coming months, I will be starting a role in the Civil Service. I’m excited to begin applying my academic and professional background to meaningful public work, particularly in areas related to justice, rehabilitation, and social policy.
