About Hannah Stark

Current LCAS-A with a Masters degree focused in social work. I currently work as a Counselor at McLeod Centers for Wellbeing in MAT (medication assisted treatment), with multiple internship experiences. My experience has given me a strong focus on working with those who suffer from severe and persistent mental illnesses, along with those who are living in poverty and suffering from addiction. Throughout my experience, I have assisted clients both in groups and individually who have been through different levels of trauma. My experience with diverse clientele, client assessments, client intake, counseling sessions, case management, case staffing, and overall community assistance efforts, allows me to contribute a strong, dedicated, and positive influence to those in need. I am able to collaborate with staff and community agencies to ensure that clients are meeting both their treatment goals and their overall life goals. As such, I am committed to working with clients, using a person centered approach, in both a creative and collaborative manner to ensure that the proper steps are taken to guide them towards the quality of life that they deserve. A significant aspect of my journey has been understanding the principles underpinning empowerment theory within social work. Empowerment involves equipping individuals with the tools necessary to take control of their lives and make informed decisions. This theoretical framework resonates deeply with my professional ethos; it underscores the necessity of fostering autonomy among clients while also acknowledging systemic barriers that may impact their progress. Through my role, I strive not only to advocate for clients, but also to empower them by amplifying their voices and facilitating access to essential resources.
