About Hannah Thrower

I became an RN 7 years ago because, as a frequently hospitalized asthmatic child, I thought the hospital was cool. I loved the crafts child life brought me and the fact that I could order ice cream every day. Early in my nursing career, I had the opportunity to join a medical team providing medical care across Malawi. I was struck by the number of children underserved and unseen by their systems. This led me to pursue a Masters in Public Health, which I completed in June 2020. With an MPH, my goal was and is to pursue child welfare for children both internationally and here, in my hometown of St. Louis, MO. In September 2020, I joined the case management team at St. Louis Children's, where my role was to ensure kiddos were safe to be discharged home from the hospital. The case management team works with non-profits, government programs, and medical equipment agencies to set families up for success after challenging hospitalizations. In my current role as supervisor of care coordination, I work with various interdisciplinary teams to curate programs and projects that streamline the workflow for the care coordination department. I still think the hospital is cool. In addition to my work, I continue taking several trips per year for children's ministry and to provide medical care in developing nations. My ultimate desire in all I do remains the same: to see every child restored physically, emotionally, and spiritually to all they were created to be.
