Background
About Hannah Wallach
Recent Harvard Law School grad pursuing civil rights and civil liberties law Before law school, I worked for a year (2019-20) as an assistant staff advocate at Community Health Law Project, a disability rights non-profit that provides pro bono legal representation to low-income, disabled individuals throughout New Jersey. I helped clients obtain and maintain public housing and public assistance. In 2019, I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis summa cum laude with majors in English and American Culture Studies and a minor in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. I also received High Distinction for my senior thesis in American Culture Studies on the illegibility of chronic illness as disability. I am a passionate, driven, and fierce advocate for, and proud member of, the disability community. But my advocacy does not start and end with the disability community or other communities of which I am a part. Extensive injustice exists in the U.S. and - insofar as disabled people face myriad forms of discrimination, such as housing insecurity, employment discrimination, healthcare disparities, and beyond - disability law has given me important skills and perspectives for advocating for civil rights and equity for our country's most marginalized populations. I am eager to bring my dedication, compassion, sharp analytical and meticulous research skills, and strong work ethic to my professional experiences.
