Background
About Hans Cainglet
Dr Hans Cainglet is a Research Fellow at the School of Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences investigating the sustainable applications and implementation of bio-sourced materials in different industries. My PhD thesis investigated cellulose nanomaterials as substitutes for synthetic plastics in food packaging, where I published six papers. I have extensive experience in cellulose nanomaterial characterisation as fibrils, crystals, and suspensions. I am also an expert in the large-scale production and structural and barrier characterisation of cellulose nanofibril and modified cellulose nanofibril films.Recent publications:Cellulose nanomaterial applications and characterisation:1. H.E. Cainglet et al,"Engineering cellulose nanofibril–polylactide composite films for high water vapor barrier food packaging," Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, vol. 706, pp. 139569, doi: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcis.2025.1395692.
