Hans Groot has an extensive experience in soil characterization, in situ remediation techniques, risk assessment and remediation related feasibility studies. For twelve years he has worked as a project manager and remediation consultant at consultancies on complex projects for authorities, industry and developpers. Since 2008 Hans Groot is employed at Deltares-TNO were he performed feasibility studies on the cost-effectiveness of in situ remediation techniques. He is responsible for the research programs of SmartSoils and Natural Cap in which the geophysical and reactive properties of sand and peat are manipulated using natural (microbiological) processes in the subsurface.
