About Hans Ilse

I am an experienced senior business/project manager who has worked in the construction and manufacturing industries. My career started off in construction as a Civil Engineer. I spent one year in Switzerland working for Marti AG learning all about dam construction and tunnelling. After that I returned to South Africa and joined Concor Construction (Pty) Ltd as an Engineer and worked my way up to a Project Managerial position. While with Concor I worked on some major projects such as Mossgas (Oil & Gas), Middelburg Steel (Heavy Industry) and mining infrastructure projects. In 1993 decided to improve my business skills and obtained an MBA. I then managed my own business producing cast aluminium components. Here I developed a passion for developing new products and production processes. I absolutely enjoy taking ideas from concept through design to production and to market. Although I have had no formal training in Sigma 6 (During my MBA studies I got to know all about Kaisen strategies), I have a thorough understanding through my experiences what “tools” to use for process improvements and to increase an organisation’s profitability. Colleagues know me as an innovator for coming up with practical solutions. My belief that there is always a solution to a problem and my “never give up” attitude is the key driver to my success. I enjoy working with a well-motivated team and never impose my ideas on others, however any idea or suggestion given by team members needs to be well researched and evaluated before presentation.
