About Hanusia Tkaczyk

I am a mental health counsellor with 40 years experience in the mental health care system, higher education and private practice. To facilitate clients' recovery and growth, I assist with the integration of body, mind and spirit, turning intention into action. In addition, I am considered an engaging presenter and workshop facilitator. Areas of specialty include trauma/abuse, mood disorders, personal growth, supporting First Nations clients ( including Residential School survivors) and the use of dreams and expressive techniques in therapeutic work. I assist my clients in tuning in to their whole selves, including awareness of emotional and bodily cues right within the therapy session. More recently, I have begun to integrate Mindfulness practices into my clinical approach. During the COVID19 pandemic I am providing services by phone and a secure, privacy-compliant on-line program called doxy.me. In my spare time I enjoy nature, photography, reading, gardening and creative movement.
