About Hao Shen

I am a professional banker with extensive experience and solid track records in China, Singapore and the USA. About 20 years ago, I started my career as a management trainee in Citi Bank Shanghai Branch. Three years later, I led the HSBC China Receivable Finance team and grew revenue by 300%. In 2006, I joined Deutsche Bank and helped to establish the China Trade Finance team from scratch. Within five years, my team increased revenue by more than 15 times. Then I moved to Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific Regional office in Singapore, where I led the Singapore Trade Finance and Cash Management teams and more than doubled the revenue in this relatively mature market during my tenure. In 2015, I joined Deutsche Bank New York Branch to lead the Telecom, Media and Technology segment in Trade Finance and champion the Asian inbound business as well as the Commodity Trade Finance initiatives. In 2018, I joined East West Bank and established the Cross-Border Banking Team. I have abundant experience in both coverage roles and product roles. Early in my career, I have worked as a relationship manager in Citi and HSBC. Currently, my teams mainly covers clients from the US- Greater China corridor. On product side, I have extensive experience in transaction banking, especially trade and supply chain finance, cash management, and foreign exchange solutions. Besides, I also have in-depth knowledge in credit assessment, risk management and compliance. All together, I have over 12 years experience in leading product teams across different markets. During these years, I have served different types of clients, including Fortune 500 global companies, mid-cap corporate customers, FIs, Non-bank FIs including various Fintech firms. Besides frontline functions, I also have expertise in optimizing operation process to improve efficiency, enhancing risk management, and strengthening regulatory compliance. When I served in Deutsche Bank China and Singapore, I also managed the Operation and/or Service teams. I am a highly self-motivated leader and I have great passion to build up high performance teams and cultivate collaboration team spirit. Over the past 20 years, I have managed cross-cultural teams in different countries and fostered diversified team culture. On the one hand, I enjoy working like an entrepreneur to build a business unit from scratch and explore new markets; on the other hand, I am also able to lead my team to navigate through the complex organizational structure, foster good relationships with internal partners, and achieve ambitious business goals.
