About Hao-Wei Luan

Strong analytical skills with insightful financial knowledge is the foundation of quant investment, and programming proficiency is the driving force of successful strategy. I am a Quantitative Researcher with academic background in Electrical Engineering and Finance, showing strong academic records including winning Bronze medal in Physics Olympiad, third prize in national mathematics competition, and passing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) level two exam. I was the leading teaching assistant on computer programming course for undergraduate students. I write modular code to build research workflow to identify signals from different perspectives, and implement novel ideas to expand my research direction. During the process, curiosity is the key to keep me moving forward. I'm always learning new knowledge/technology and apply it instantly to solve each new challenge I face. I'll then evaluate if this introduces benefits via quantitative methods. I enjoy such fast-paced working environment encouraging creativity and research diversity. I am also a part-time real estate appraiser, using studied methods to provide professional opinions on appraised real estate properties. In my leisure time, I'm involved into open source community and contribute patches from time to time.
