About Harald Rau

Harald is an experienced media expert, author, speaker and researcher - media economics and management could be set as his major field of research, his current (third-party funded) research-projects focus on location-based services in media communication, on communication strategies for carsharing services, on merit wants in media economics and on adaptation theory in an economy of journalism, additionally, under guidance of the european social fund he invented the audio university as a project building bridges between skilled professionals and university education. He supported several startups (e.g. Codeularity, Trailya, Burini), edited and wrote several monographs - e.g. on financing media start-ups, on mergers and acquisitions in German television business, on media economics in the age of digitalization. Scientific education: Holding a ‘Diplom-Kaufmann’ in business administration (University of Hagen, 1991) and a doctor's degree in journalism studies (University of Dortmund, habilitated in media- and communication sciences (University of Leipzig, 2006), tought at the universities of Frankfurt (Oder), Mannheim and Leipzig since founded the program for television training at U of Leipzig in substituted a professorship for journalism studies (and international media systems) in 2005 and 2006 (U of Leipzig). Expertise: More than 20 years of experience as a media professional (print, broadcast (audio, video, online), from 1984 to 2009 working as: journalist and author (newspaper, magazine, radio, television), producer (television (national/regional on business, finance, sports and science), business movies and corporate-TV (DAX and NYSE-listed companies; innovation award of BASF (1998), media award of Baden-Württemberg presenter (TV (business, finance, sports) and event (DAX and NYSE-listed companies), author of books focusing management practice (Key Account Management, Benchmarking, Newsroom Management), consultant in media business, e.g. Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, electronic media (FAZ Business-Radio), member of the management board heading the broadcasting chain, associate founder and on air presenter of the television program ‘FAZ finance grill’, BloombergTV (2001/2002). Experienced in any kind of information based television and business movie production, in diverse presentation formats including news-programs, live-reporting, live-presenting, ready produced reports and features, talk, and analog/digital editing in different standards.
