Greetings! I'm Hardik Choksi, a passionate Software Engineer specializing in backend development, observability, and APM (Application Performance Monitoring). My expertise lies in designing, building, and optimizing high-performance backend systems, with a strong focus on distributed tracing, log ingestion, and real-time monitoring. At Middleware (YC 23), I contribute to building a full-stack observability platform, where I’ve developed scalable RESTful APIs in Go (Gin framework), designed log ingestion pipelines, and implemented self-continuous profiling for performance analysis. My work extends to frontend engineering, where I led the revamp of 25+ integration screens, transforming Figma designs into an optimized React UI. Here’s a glimpse into some key milestones of my journey- Developed the Ingestion Control feature, allowing users to filter logs, mask sensitive data, and extract custom attributes dynamically via an intuitive UI- Engineered Apache integration from scratch, implementing regex-based log parsing & real-time metric transformations for deeper insights- Integrated self-continuous profiling in the Middleware Agent, leveraging Pyroscope for real-time debugging & performance analysis- Diagnosed and resolved critical integration issues—fixing Kafka JAR conflicts, Elasticsearch connectivity failures, Python APM conflicts, and Deno.js instrumentation bugs- Published an open-source PHP APM package, enabling seamless instrumentation for Laravel & WordPress applications. Before Middleware, at Lenditt Innovations, I worked on financial backend systems, developing scalable APIs in NestJS & PostgreSQL to handle payday loan processing, EMI calculations, and financial transactions. My contributions included- Optimizing SQL queries, significantly improving response times and reducing database load- Implementing Node.js streams for report generation, reducing server memory usage- Integrating third-party APIs (Plaid, ZumRails, VoPay, Sendgrid, Twilio) for secure transactions- Enhancing security by implementing RSA-AES Hybrid Encryption.
