For new and major refurbishment Client building projects, BREEAM and Life cycle analysis (LCA) using One Click or eTool may also be employed to advise project teams on lowest embodied carbon design and 'circularity' for creation of low-environmental impact buildings from design through to construction. Also advises on creating healthy buildings, being selected as an IWBI WELL advisor 2021-2022. Head of Technical Consultancy at BRE and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) expert, having published technical peer-reviewed papers extensively in this field. Expert on the BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), with several years experience working as QA Manager at BRE, helping develop the BREEAM scheme, training building professionals and managing a team of 8 full-time staff, and then within Industry for the Consultancy function of large UK Contractors. BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP), so qualified to provide Project Design teams with specialised holistic knowledge and sustainability advice on built environment sustainability, environmental design and environmental assessment through all RIBA stages from concept design stage to final construction. This includes facilitating the design teams'​ efforts to successfully schedule activities, set priorities and negotiate the trade-offs required to achieve the target BREEAM rating certification. Knowledge of Healthy Buildings, particularly WELL Standard (appointed IWBI WELL Standard Advisor 2021-2022), other environmental certification methodology such as FitWell, Levels, LEED, Greenstar, Estidama and QSAS/GSAS. Trained to use Southfacing's TrackerPlus software (and some experience of IES Tap) for BREEAM. IAQ expertise, having researched and published extensively in 'peer-reviewed' journals in this subject (publication list available). Elected Fellow and Member of several professional bodies such as Institute of Environmental Sciences, Royal Society of Public Health, The Chartered Institute of Building, BRE Academy, and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
